Renato ... What a nice surprise. This morning I was sitting here in my apartment with the door open, enjoying the beginning of a beautiful, sunshine-filled day. A strange face walked into our little apartment complex . It was Renato. He has been in town for a couple of days and came looking for me. We had a nice chat and it was wonderful to meet him. He is so happy to be back in Sosua. I hope to be able to spend more time with him while he is here.
Speaking of the weather ... For the fourth consecutive day we have sunshine. I am beginning to think the everyday rain pattern has broken. When the sun shines it is just perfect down here in paradise.
Serie Final Agulas vs. Tigres ... Game 2 went to los Tigres del Licey last night by a score of 4-1. Las Aguilas won the opener Friday night 9-3 so the best 5 out of 9 playoff is tied 1-1. Tonight the two teams move back to Santiago for game 3. There are hundreds of yellow Aguilas flags flying around town. Go Aguilas!
Favorite place to have lunch ... Susanna's hands down. I eat there every day. Rice, chicken, salsa, beans, fried plantains, salad and ice water for $100 pesos.
Some Houses Around Sosua ... Today, pictures of a few of the many very nice homes in Sosua. It is interesting to note that most of these houses have "for sale" signs out front. I wish I had the money to purchase one of them, but alas ... no.
Word For The Day ... Tener Que
Tener Que + infinitive is one way to express obligation or necessity. Literally tener means "to have." Conjugated you use "yo tengo," "tu tienes," "usted tiene," "nosotros tenemos," and "ellos tienen."
Yo tengo que ir means I have to go.
Tu tienes que dar el dinero means you must give me the money.
Angel tiene que leer el periodico means Angel must read the newspaper.
Nosotros tenemos que ir a La Cienega means we must go to La Cienega.
Ellos tienen que comprar una revista means they have to buy a magazine.
La Vida Aqui Esta Muy Bien ... Hasta Luego!
